What this data is
Federal contracts
Every contract the US government signs or modifies is reported to the Federal Procurement Data System and published on USAspending.gov, with the recipient, the awarding agency, the dollars obligated by that action and a description. Agencies have 30 days to report, and the Defense Department delays its records by 90 days, so a day's list fills in over the following weeks.
This page keeps the largest actions for each day (the top few hundred by amount, which is everything above roughly a million dollars) and maps the recipient's legal name to the listed parent where one exists, so a Lockheed Martin subsidiary counts as Lockheed Martin. Private recipients, universities and government entities stay unmapped and still appear in the daily list.
An action is money obligated on a contract, which can be a new award, an option exercised, incremental funding on an existing contract, or a negative amount when funding is pulled back. It is not revenue: a $2 billion award is spent over its period of performance. The company page for each mapped ticker lists its actions with the same caveat.
Source and method
- Source
- USAspending.gov transaction search API; Federal Procurement Data System reporting rules
- Updates
- Daily at 09:45 UTC for the last 10 action dates; a weekly sweep re-reads 60 days so late-reported actions land. Last update 2026-09-10.
- History
- June 2026 (90 days loaded at launch).
- Coverage
- 25,149 of the largest daily actions since 2026-06-14; latest action date 2026-09-10. Agencies report with a lag of up to 90 days.

How to read it
- Read modifications and new awards differently: a large modification on an old contract is usually option money already expected; a large first action (mod 0) is a new win.
- Sum by parent over 90 days rather than reacting to one action. Obligations are lumpy and a single delivery order can be a quarter's worth of funding.
- Negative actions are de-obligations. A run of them on one contract is a program being cut or closed out.
Analysis of what the data shows, not advice. XOOMAR does not recommend buying, selling or holding anything.
