Value now multiplies the filed count by the live perpetual mark price ($77K); it is not a company figure. Counts are shown only where the filing's own fair value per coin is plausible; companies that tag fair value without a count show the value alone.

What this data is

Bitcoin treasuries

Since the 2025 accounting change (ASU 2023-08) US companies carry bitcoin at fair value and tag the count, the fair value and the cost in their quarterly and annual filings. That makes the holdings of every listed treasury company a primary-source number: it comes from the balance sheet the company signed, not from a press release or a wallet-tracking estimate.

This page reads those tags from the SEC's XBRL company facts for a maintained list of filers. Companies tag the coin count under different unit names and a few misplace the scale, so the count shown for each company is the newest one whose fair value per coin sits within a wide band of the market price; where the count cannot be reconciled or was never tagged, the fair value alone is shown and the count is marked as not reported.

The numbers lag the real position by up to a quarter, because a 10-Q is filed weeks after quarter end and purchases in between are announced on 8-Ks that carry no structured data. Strategy, the largest holder, buys weekly; its filed count is the floor, not the current figure. The page states the as-of date next to every row for that reason.

How to read it

  • Read the as-of date first. A count dated 30 June is the quarter end, and anything bought since is not in it.
  • Fair value less cost is the unrealized gain the company reports; cost per coin (cost divided by count) is the average price the treasury was built at.
  • A company whose count is marked not reported still holds bitcoin: divide its fair value by the price on the as-of date for a rough count, and expect the company's own 8-K to be more current.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do the counts differ from other trackers?
Other trackers combine press releases, 8-Ks and estimates and update between filings. This page uses only what each company tagged in its own 10-Q or 10-K, so it lags by up to a quarter but every number has a filing behind it.
Why is a company's count marked not reported?
Some filers tag only the fair value of their crypto assets, and a few tag a coin count that does not reconcile with that fair value (a scale error in the filing). In both cases the count is withheld and the fair value shown.
Which companies are covered?
A maintained list of US filers known to hold bitcoin on the balance sheet. A company is added when its filings carry the crypto asset tags; foreign companies that do not file XBRL with the SEC are outside the source.
How is cost per coin calculated?
The company's reported cost basis divided by its reported count, both from the same filing. It is the average price paid over the life of the position, before impairments under the old accounting rules.
