Understanding
How the XRP score is built
Three independent layers feed this score. The news layer is our AI reading every relevant XRP article our pipeline ingests, scored from -1 to +1. The crowd layer comes from derivatives positioning (funding percentiles, long/short ratios). The institutional layer comes from weekly CFTC positioning where a matching futures market exists.
The layers deliberately disagree at the most interesting moments. Panicked news with washed-out crowd positioning is the classic capitulation setup; euphoric news with crowded longs is its mirror. The composite blends them (news 0.5, crowd 0.25, institutional 0.25, renormalized when a layer has no data), but the layer breakdown above is where the actual reading happens.
Sentiment is a contrarian tool at extremes and a confirming tool in the middle. We recompute hourly; the history shows how scores evolved into and out of recent moves.
Common Questions
Why is a layer sometimes null?
Quiet news days produce no scoreable XRP articles, and not every asset has a matching futures market. The composite renormalizes over whatever layers have data.
What do the windows mean?
24h reflects the latest news cycle; 7d smooths it. Divergence between the two flags a fresh shift in coverage.
