What the PPI measures
The Producer Price Index measures the change in the prices domestic producers get for their goods and services. The Bureau of Labor Statistics publishes it every month, usually in the middle of the month, at 8:30 a.m. ET. The headline is the final demand index, seasonally adjusted, as a change on the month before.
